Digital conceptual work created in commemoration of the centennial of Malevich's Black Suprematic Square, oil on linen canvas, 79.5 x 79.5 cm (1915)
Xmlization is a tech neologism to describe the process of converting data into XML (Extensible Markup Language). SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) is a format that uses XML to create graphical elements using code/attributes to define shapes and the position of those shapes on a "canvas".
Given the centennial of Malevich's Black Square, I am using the subject work, with an overlay of a black square using SVG. The code behind SVG is XML, hence "xmlization".
